A former lawmaker condemned an attack on the town of Anan in the Jezzine district, calling it an unjustified act of aggression.

“We condemn and denounce the hostile raid on the safe town of Anan in the Jezzine area,” the former representative stated on the platform X. “Anan is a peaceful town and its people are civilians. This aggressive message cannot be justified under any pretext.”

The former official also urged the government to increase diplomatic efforts to prevent further escalation and to halt what they described as a continuing threat to Lebanon’s security and stability. “The government is always called upon to intensify its communications to prevent the expansion of aggression and stop the ongoing series of threats to the security and stability of Lebanon,” they added.
