Colombia’s Apertura tournament continues this weekend with a slate of matches following the postponement of two January fixtures due to weather and scheduling conflicts. League leaders Deportivo Pasto and Atlético Bucaramanga will face off Friday evening in what promises to be a key contest, while struggling 2025 champions DIM will host Internacional de Bogotá as they search for their first win of the new year. This weekend’s action also includes crucial matchups for teams vying for playoff positioning and those battling to avoid relegation.

Two matches from the fifth matchday of the Apertura tournament, originally scheduled by Dimayor for January, have been postponed. The contest between Santa Fe and Nacional has been joined by the Fortaleza-América de Cali clash, which was slated for Bogotá’s El Campín stadium – offering a home-field advantage for the Scarlet team and potential gate revenue for the capital city club.

New dates for those matchups are yet to be determined. However, the matchday will kick off on Friday, February 6th in southern Colombia, with a showdown between Deportivo Pasto and Atlético Bucaramanga, scheduled for 6:20 p.m. at La Libertad stadium in the Nariño capital.

This promises to be a pivotal encounter, pitting the league’s top two teams against each other. Pasto currently leads the table with 9 points, earned through three victories and one defeat – a recent setback against Deportivo Cali. Bucaramanga sits in second place with eight points, having secured two wins and as many draws.

Following that match, the action shifts to Medellín’s Atanasio Girardot stadium, where DIM, under Alejandro Restrepo, will host Internacional de Bogotá starting at 8:30 p.m. The two teams find themselves on contrasting trajectories: Medellín is struggling near the bottom of the standings, while Internacional is enjoying a strong start.

Medellín, the top team of 2025, is still searching for its first win of 2026. So far, the Reds have accumulated 2 points, courtesy of draws against Tolima at home and Millonarios on the road. Internacional, meanwhile, has had an inconsistent run. They began with a heavy 3-0 loss to América at Pascual Guerrero. However, they quickly turned things around in their second match, defeating Cúcuta Deportivo 2-1.

They continued their momentum in the third matchday, winning 2-3 against Jaguares de Córdoba in Montería, and followed that up with a valuable 0-0 draw against Tolima in the fourth, one of the league’s most impressive sides so far this semester.

What’s on the Weekend Schedule?

Saturday’s Liga action begins at the Cincuentenario stadium in Medellín with the match between Águilas Doradas and Cúcuta Deportivo, set to kick off at 2:00 p.m.

The second game of the day features Deportes Tolima, led by Lucas González, as they aim to complete a match with all eleven players on the field for the first time this Apertura. Tolima has seen six players sent off in their four matches so far.

Finally, the defending league champions will welcome Boyacá Chicó to Barranquilla. Starting at 8:30 p.m., Junior will be looking for their third victory of the domestic season. Tunja, meanwhile, will attempt to secure their first three points and climb off the bottom of the table. Sunday’s schedule includes Alianza-Once Caldas (4:10 p.m.) in Valledupar; Deportivo Cali-Millonarios (6:20 p.m.) in Palmira; and the matchday will conclude, provisionally, with Jaguares-Pereira in Montería, kicking off at 8:30 p.m.
