Health officials have issued recalls for several Italian meat products due to potential Listeria contamination, just before the Christmas holiday. The recalls, announced by the Italian Ministry of Health, include various cuts of pork and turkey.

On December 24, the Ministry of Health announced a precautionary recall of lots 541327 and 2541328 of Lenti & Lode high-quality cooked ham, and lot 2541330 of Lenti roasted turkey breast, due to the possible presence of Listeria monocytogenes. You can find details about the cooked ham recall here and the turkey recall here.

Prior to these announcements, on December 23, the Ministry of Health also issued a precautionary recall for lot 2541329 of Fior Fiore Coop roasted pork loin, again citing potential Listeria monocytogenes contamination. More information on this recall can be found here.

Listeria is a serious concern, particularly for pregnant women, newborns, older adults, and people with weakened immune systems. Infections can lead to severe illness and, in some cases, even death. These recalls highlight the importance of food safety monitoring and vigilance, especially during the holiday season when consumption of these types of products may increase.
