Gediminas Šimkus, the head of Lithuania’s central bank, sees no reason to alter the institution’s strategic allocation to gold reserves.

Recent acknowledgement from investment portfolio managers at the Lithuanian central financial institution regarding a missed opportunity to capitalize on a rally in gold prices – by not increasing holdings of the precious metal – has drawn criticism.
