Dutch Crime Drama ‘Loverboy: Vertrouw Niemand’ Premieres to Anticipation

The Dutch crime drama “Loverboy: Vertrouw Niemand” (“Loverboy: Don’t Trust Anyone”) had its premiere on March 21, 2026, continuing a story that has captivated audiences in the Netherlands. The film, directed by Danny Leysner, is a sequel to the 2024 hit “Loverboy: Emoties uit” and is already generating buzz for its intense storyline and compelling characters.

The film follows Terrance, a former “loverboy” – a human trafficker – as he attempts to rebuild his life after serving a prison sentence. He’s presented with a risky deal by the police: infiltrate a dangerous human trafficking network and rescue four missing girls in exchange for regaining custody of his daughter. However, his mission quickly becomes complicated as he finds himself entangled with Nina, a seductive and ruthless “lovergirl.”

According to IMDb, the cast includes Cyriel Guds as Terrance, Olaf Ait Tami as Souf, Ilia Gavria as Damir, Efi Stephan as Jaleesa, and Sky Lemmer as Nina. Returning actors from previous installments include Cyriel Guds, Olaf Ait Tami, Ilia Gavria, and Efi Stephan.

The film’s director, Danny Leysner, emphasized the importance of portraying the gritty reality of the subject matter. “If you accept the violence away, you don’t get close enough to the reality,” Het Parool reports him saying.

“Loverboy: Vertrouw Niemand” was written by Cyriel Guds, who also developed the original web series “Loverboy” that went viral in 2021. Filming took place in both the Netherlands and Belgium, beginning in June 2025. The production company is Never Boring Films, with distribution handled by WW Entertainment.

The film runs for 92 minutes and is in Dutch. The success of “Loverboy: Emoties uit” as the highest-grossing Dutch film of 2024 has set high expectations for this sequel, signaling a growing appetite for Dutch crime dramas on the international stage. De Telegraaf reported that Cyriel Guds is now living with his mother again.

The full cast list includes: Cyriel Guds as Terrance, Olaf Ait Tami as Souf, Ilia Gavria as Damir, Efi Stephan as Jaleesa, Sky Lemmer as Nina, Ward Kerremans as Bogdan, Gioem Cederburg as Lendl, Yassine Ouaich as Amin, Imanuelle Grives as Shari, Yassine Chigri as Zakka, Catalin Nicolai Vasile, Lonneke Bakker as Maya, and Geronimo Comvalius as Matta.
