Quebec screenwriter Luc Dionne is moving forward with a fresh television project following the confirmation of a third season for his drama series Dumas, according to a report from Showbizz.net.

The upcoming series, produced by Aetios Productions and set to air on Radio-Canada, centers on Jean Dumas, the founder of a private investigation firm called Intelco.

Gildor Roy will reprise his role as Jean Dumas, a character he portrayed in the previous seasons of Dumas.

The series will explore the evolution of Intelco from a slight startup into one of the country’s most prominent investigative firms, handling complex cases involving intellectual property theft, industrial espionage, fund diversion, and money laundering.

According to the synopsis shared during a Radio-Canada press conference on May 9, 2024, Jean Dumas established Intelco nearly 30 years prior to the events of the series.

Over time, the firm shifted from minor investigations to high-stakes corporate and financial crimes.

Dumas surrounds himself with a team of seasoned investigators drawn from law enforcement, who operate under strict contractual agreements compliant with legal standards.

The announcement comes as the second season of Dumas concluded last week with a major revelation, setting the stage for the popular series’ return this fall.

Luc Dionne previously commented on the season finale, stating that he had strategically positioned elements for the upcoming third season.

Fans of the series are invited to an exclusive event this Sunday, where Dionne will share insights into his creative process, including character development and the art of suspense, during a masterclass hosted by journalist Marie-Maude Denis at the Cinémathèque québécoise.

The event, which runs for approximately ninety minutes, is free to attend with limited seating available.

This masterclass offers a rare opportunity to engage with one of Quebec’s most prolific television writers, known for series such as Omertà, District 31, Antigang, and Dumas.
