Lucie Zedníčková, a prominent Czech actress and presenter, was raised by her grandparents, with some family members even suggesting she be sent to Germany, according to recent reports.
Zedníčková, born Lucie Bártová and later known as Lucie Pokorná, was born on November 15, 1968, in Prague. She is the stepdaughter of actor Pavel Zedníček. Her mother is a dancer and a member of the Black Theatre.
The actress began her career at a young age, making her first television appearance at five years aged in children’s programs hosted by Štěpánka Haničincová. By age ten, she had already appeared in films such as Lásky mezi kapkami deště (Love Between Raindrops) and Hodinářova svatební cesta Korálovým mořem (The Watchmaker’s Wedding Journey to the Coral Sea).
Following her graduation from gymnasium, Zedníčková attended the Theatre Faculty of the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague (DAMU). She has since performed at the Realistic Theatre, the Činoherní Club, and with the Háta theatre company. Her fluency in multiple languages has likewise led to roles in German productions.
Zedníčková shares two children, a daughter named Amélie and a son named Mikuláš, with her former husband, Vít Pokorný. Mikuláš Pokorný currently studies at the Janáček Academy of Music and Performing Arts (JAMU) and is involved in the jazz scene.
