While Bayern has achieved similar success in seasons past, notably during Pep Guardiola’s tenure, the current goal difference of +35 is the largest in Bundesliga history after 12 games.

“Although this figure was also achieved with Pep Guardiola in the 2015/16 season, and Bayer Leverkusen also started the 2023/24 season with the same number of points, neither of these teams reached the current goal difference of +35, a new league record,” the Bayern Munich website states.

Díaz has been instrumental in achieving this +35 goal difference. In the 3-1 win over St. Pauli, he provided an assist for the equalizing goal, and then headed home the winner in stoppage time. He has now featured in 19 games across all competitions, accumulating 18 goal contributions (goals and assists). Díaz is proving vital for one of the world’s best clubs, in a top league, and is cementing his place among the planet’s elite.
