The Caribes of Anzoátegui and the Tigres of Aragua will face off in a winner-take-all playoff series starting Monday, December 30th, to determine the fifth and final team to qualify for the Round Robin stage of the 2025-2026 Venezuelan Professional Baseball League (LVBP) season. Caribes will host the Tigres at Estadio Chico Carrasquel, needing just one victory to advance to the league’s final tournament.
The Tigres of Aragua have the most appearances in the Play In series since its introduction to the league four years ago, successfully advancing to the postseason in each attempt.
The season series between the two teams finished tied at four wins apiece. However, the Caribes won three of four games against the Tigres in Puerto La Cruz. Asdrúbal Cabrera’s squad needs only one win to move on to the Round Robin, while Aragua will need to win two consecutive games to keep their championship hopes alive.
The Wild Card series begins Monday, with a decisive second game scheduled for Tuesday, December 31st, if necessary.
