Caracas, Venezuela – the navegantes del Magallanes secured a decisive 11-6 victory over the Cardenales de Lara on Saturday, highlighted by a historic performance from outfielder Renato Núñez. Núñez hit three home runs in the contest, a first for his career, and further solidifies his position as a key player in the Venezuelan Professional Baseball League (LVBP). The win propels the Magallanes to a 4-3 series lead with one game remaining.

The Navegantes del Magallanes quickly returned to winning form, securing a crucial victory over the Cardenales de Lara, powered by a three-homerun performance from Renato Núñez.

“Eléctricos” dominated the “Crepusculares” with a final score of 11-6, scoring in every inning from the fifth through the ninth to take a 4-3 lead in the series with one game remaining.

Renato Núñez’s Historic Night:

Renato Núñez was the offensive star for Magallanes, hitting his first three-home run game of his career: one in the second, one in the fifth, and another in the eighth. He now has eight home runs in the current tournament.

He also became the first player in “Nave Turca” history with seven games of two or more home runs and set the mark for most home runs in two consecutive seasons with 28, according to statistician Tony Flores.

With this win, Yadier Molina’s squad climbed to sixth place in the standings, with a record of 25-26. The Cardenales remain in second place with a 27-25 record.
