Wisconsin Man Arrested After Alleged Arson at Horicon Bar

A 42-year-old man is in custody after a fire broke out at a bar in Horicon, Wisconsin, on Saturday night, prompting a large emergency response and an investigation into an alleged intentional act.

On October 19, 2025, at approximately 9:08 p.m., the Dodge County Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call reporting an active fire at a bar located in the 300 block of E. Lake Street. The bar was occupied with patrons at the time, and reports indicated an upstairs tenant was trapped on the roof. Fire crews from multiple departments successfully extinguished the blaze and ensured the safe evacuation of everyone inside. This incident highlights the potential dangers posed by arson and the importance of swift emergency response.

Authorities believe the fire was intentionally set by a disgruntled patron. Kevin Lentz, of Hustisford, Wisconsin, was arrested and booked into the Dodge County Jail on charges of Arson (Felony), 1st Degree Recklessly Endangering Safety (Felony), 2nd Degree Recklessly Endangering Safety (Felony), and Criminal Damage to Property (Misdemeanor). Individuals can find information on those currently in custody through the Dodge County Sheriff’s Office App.

The Horicon Police Department, assisted by detectives from the Dodge County Sheriff’s Office, conducted a swift investigation leading to Lentz’s arrest. Multiple fire departments responded to the scene, including Horicon, Burnett, Juneau, Iron Ridge, Hustisford, Mayville, and Kekoskee, along with Horicon EMS. As in all criminal cases, Lentz is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. The State of Wisconsin Department of Justice offers resources on crime victim support.

The investigation remains ongoing, and further details will be released as they become available, according to officials.
