A Tricky Test for West Ham
The match against West Ham won’t be easy for Manchester United. The first meeting between the two sides ended in a 1-1 draw at Old Trafford, but Ruben Amorim was still in charge of West Ham at that time.
Another factor that could make this match challenging for United is West Ham’s recent resurgence. The London club, now under Nuno Espirito Santo, has secured three wins in their last four Premier League games.
Opta gives West Ham a 28.6% chance of winning and a 24.4% chance of a draw against Manchester United. The Hammers are also battling to climb out of the relegation zone.
Manchester United has a poor recent record in their last six meetings against West Ham, suffering four defeats. Their record stands at just one win and one draw during that stretch.
The Red Devils shouldn’t be discouraged, however, as West Ham has struggled at home in their last 20 Premier League matches, managing only 4 wins (three of which came against promoted teams), 4 draws and 12 losses.
“I think they’re very good in transition, very dangerous. They’ve got some really good attacking players,” Carrick said, according to the official Manchester United website.
