Buddhist Monk Details Encounters with Jeffrey Epstein
Prominent Buddhist monk Matthieu Ricard has publicly addressed past meetings with the late Jeffrey Epstein, detailing a series of interactions that began in 2015. The revelations come as scrutiny surrounding Epstein’s associates continues to surface.
Ricard explained that his initial encounter with Epstein occurred at Harvard University during an academic setting. He stated he was introduced to Epstein as a financial supporter of the research at Professor Martin Nowak’s laboratory. “He attended our exchange and asked a few questions about the neuroscience research I was involved in,” Ricard said.
Following this meeting, Epstein reportedly requested a follow-up conversation, which took place weeks later in Paris at Ricard’s publishing house. According to Ricard, they discussed ongoing research programs and theories of evolution formulated by Martin Nowak. “I didn’t quite understand why he wanted to revisit these topics, which we had already discussed,” Ricard noted.
Ricard emphasized that this was the last time he saw or communicated with Epstein. “After this meeting, I never saw him again, and we didn’t exchange a single message,” he stated. He as well confirmed that Epstein never provided financial support to Karuna-Shechen, Ricard’s organization, nor was any support solicited.
Ricard said he only became aware of the extent of Epstein’s crimes when the allegations came to light four years later, at which point he recognized the individual he had met in 2015. He previously offered further clarification on a circulating photograph of the two. Libération reported on the details of these meetings on February 10, 2026.
The news arrives as public interest in the connections between high-profile figures and Epstein remains high, with ongoing investigations and media coverage continuing to unfold. MysteryLores has also been following the story.
