Here’s what’s worth seeing in cinemas from May 1st to May 8th.
This is the latest edition of Telex Diszpó, showcasing the upcoming week’s film experiences. Between May 1st and May 8th, a number of exciting screenings and events are being offered in the Hungarian cinema program. The film scene is heating up as spring progresses, offering a diverse range of options for moviegoers.
Several film-related announcements have recently been made. The ELTE Film Review, the film department’s own festival of the Faculty of Humanities, is currently underway. details can be found here.
On May 4th, a series of films by Máté Konkol – Budapest, Closed City, Everyone Makes Their Own Bed, and The Book is Our Weapon – will be screened consecutively at Stúdió K, offering a compelling program following May 1st.
From the beginning of May, the Cirkó cinema will honor Ferenc Grunwalsky, a groundbreaking director and cinematographer, with multiple screenings, culminating in a book launch on May 16th. More details are available here.
Next week will likewise see the launch of a massive Béla Tarr retrospective at Cirkó. Tickets are selling quickly, with only a few remaining!
The II. András Szirtes Experimental Film Festival will be held in Budapest in early July, and applications are now being accepted. You can find more information here.
