MBC Group’s Director General of Media, Public Relations and Corporate Communications, Bassem Al-Breikan, has affirmed that “The Voice” is a competitive entertainment show governed by clear rules, with results consistently determined by public vote as broadcast on air.
Al-Breikan addressed recent discussion sparked by singer Ahmed Saad regarding his experience as a judge on the sixth season of “The Voice” in a voice recording shared by Et بالعربي on its official Instagram page. “I understand that, given the artistic competition, it’s perfectly natural to see varying emotional reactions from some coaches when the results are revealed. This is understandable within the context of the competition, but it doesn’t change the results mechanism or the show’s trajectory.”
“The Voice is produced to global standards, and the program team works with international specialists focused on quality control and performance, delivering the best practices used worldwide in this type of programming,” Al-Breikan explained. “MBC also ensures that all its programs and their management embody the highest professional level, reflecting its extensive experience in content creation, separate from any simplistic or inaccurate interpretations of television production methods.”
Al-Breikan concluded, “Ultimately, ‘The Voice’ isn’t just about winning or losing, but about discovering and supporting talent artistically even after the season ends. We truly believe that an artist’s real journey begins after the show, not just with the results. I hope the coaches continue to support these talents after the program.”
Ahmed Saad previously expressed his appreciation and love for the entire team behind the talent discovery show “The Voice,” in which he participated as a judge, during a press conference held on the sidelines of his concert in Riyadh on January 23.
“All the love and appreciation to everyone who made ‘The Voice,’ and to Judy who won,” Saad said. “I’m not saying who deserves to win and who doesn’t, but I felt a bit deceived. My calculations weren’t going as planned, but all I can say is I felt a bit deceived. I can’t say more details because it’s not in my hands.”
Syrian singer Judy Shahin was crowned the winner of “The Voice” Season 6, following a public vote that awarded her the highest percentage of votes. The show’s success underscores the enduring popularity of televised singing competitions in the Arab world.
The final episode featured a fierce competition between Shahin, representing Team Rahma Riad, Ashraqat Ahmed of Team Nassif Zeytoun, and Mohannad Al-Basha from Team Ahmed Saad.
