MG Motor continued its upward trajectory in 2025, achieving record sales adn a growing footprint across key european markets despite a challenging global automotive climate. The British brand, owned by SAIC Motor Corporation, surpassed 300,000 vehicle sales in Europe and delivered its 100,000th EV in the UK, signaling a important shift in consumer demand towards its increasingly electrified lineup [[2]]. MG Motor achieved significant growth in 2025, delivering its 100,000th electric vehicle in the United Kingdom and surpassing 300,000 total vehicle sales across Europe for the first time. The results represent a nearly 30% increase in sales volume compared to the previous year, signaling the brand’s rising prominence in a competitive automotive landscape.

The automaker demonstrated particularly strong performance in the UK and key European markets. MG Motor secured the 10th position in UK sales for the second consecutive year, with 85,155 vehicle registrations by the end of 2025. This reflects a 4.4% year-over-year increase in sales.

Notably, MG was one of only five brands in the top ten to increase its annual registrations. The company’s momentum culminated in a strong December, achieving the second-highest registration volume in the UK with 9,846 vehicles delivered, trailing only Volkswagen. The MG HS model finished the year as the eighth best-selling car in the United Kingdom. Further data indicates that MG became the second best-selling brand in Wales during 2025.

MG Motor’s growth was also supported by strategic investments in its European dealership network. The brand currently operates in 34 countries with nearly 1,300 retail partners. These investments are aimed at expanding market reach and enhancing customer service capabilities.

In Spain, MG Motor became the fifth best-selling brand, registering 45,168 vehicles among private buyers. The MG HS PHEV was the country’s most popular plug-in hybrid, with 8,039 units delivered to private customers. The MG ZS SUV secured the position of second most sought-after passenger vehicle and the best-selling SUV in Spain.

Sales in Italy reached 50,064 units in 2025, a substantial 25% increase compared to 2024, representing a 3.3% market share. Electrified vehicles accounted for 53% of total sales in Italy, and MG Italy ranked second in sales of full hybrid models.

Throughout 2025, MG Motor expanded its product offerings for European customers and increased access to the latest technologies. This included the launch of the MGS5 EV SUV and the introduction of the MG IM range, focused on advanced technology, in the UK, Norway, and Switzerland. The spacious and technologically equipped MGS6 EV SUV was introduced in the final quarter of the year.

MG celebrated its 100th anniversary in 2024 and now offers a broad range of gasoline, hybrid, and electric vehicles. The model lineup includes the versatile MG3 and the sporty, critically acclaimed MG Cyberster electric roadster, reflecting the brand’s commitment to expanding its market share.
