Pardubice has re-signed midfielder Michal Hlavatý from Slovan Liberec, marking a return for the 27-year-old to the club where he previously made 125 appearances. The move, announced Tuesday, secures Hlavatý with a contract extending through the 2029-2030 season, as Pardubice looks to bolster its midfield during the winter transfer window[[1]]. Hlavatý’s return offers a boost of experience for a team currently competing in the Czech First League.

Michal Hlavatý is returning to Pardubice after a year and a half with Liberec. The 27-year-old midfielder has signed a long-term contract with the Czech club, extending through the 2029-2030 season. Both first-division clubs announced the transfer on their websites.

Hlavatý joined Liberec last summer as one of their most significant signings in recent years. He quickly became a key player for Slovan, featuring in 29 league matches last season and contributing five goals and five assists. However, he recently lost his place in the starting lineup under coach Radoslav Kováč, prompting his decision to return to Pardubice.

“I am incredibly happy that this has worked out,” Hlavatý said. “It was difficult to leave before the 2024/2025 season, and a part of me remained in Pardubice. I’m looking forward to the club, the fans, and the whole city.” He has made 161 league appearances throughout his career, scoring 20 goals, and has also played for Mladá Boleslav and briefly for Plzeň.

“Michal is returning to our club for the third time, and I am very pleased about that,” said Vít Zavřel, chairman of the board of Pardubice. “He has experienced a lot with us. He’s coming back to a familiar environment at the peak of his career. We believe he will be a great asset both on and off the pitch. We see a lot of experience in him, which is why we agreed to a four-and-a-half-year contract.”

The move provides Pardubice with a boost in midfield as they look to strengthen their position in the Czech First League. Hlavatý’s familiarity with the club and his proven track record are expected to make him an immediate impact.
