Welcome to live coverage of the 2026 Winter Olympics in Milan-Cortina.

France is looking to build on a successful opening to the Games, with athletes aiming to add to the medal count on Thursday, February 12th. Romane Miradoli leads the French women’s alpine ski team as they compete in the super-G, hoping to secure the nation’s first individual medal in the discipline since Carole Montillet’s downhill gold at the 2002 Salt Lake City Olympics. Seventeen-year-old Jonas Chollet will also make his Olympic debut in the snowboardcross event, seeking a spot on the podium.

Competition will take place at the Olympic Ice Stadium in Cortina d’Ampezzo for curling matches, and on the renowned Olimpia delle Tofane course – known as the “Pearl of the Dolomites” – for the women’s super-G. The Mediolanum Forum in Milan will host the figure skating events.

The day’s events begin at 9:05 AM with curling matches between South Korea and the United States, and Japan and Sweden. The women’s super-G is scheduled for 11:30 AM, followed by France’s first hockey match against Switzerland at 12:10 PM. The snowboardcross final will then take place at 3:01 PM, and speed skating will conclude the day with the men’s 1000m final at 9:48 PM.

Coverage will be available on France Télévisions and Eurosport.

Célien Milioni-Brunet, Louise Pointin, and Vincent Marcelin will be providing live updates and analysis from the Austerlitz chalet throughout the day.

We will not be discussing the theory of the donut, a concept developed by British economist Kate Raworth to achieve ecological transition goals.
