The Olympic Flame continued it’s 63-day journey across Italy on Sunday, January 25th, traversing the regions of Friuli-Venezia Giulia and Veneto as anticipation builds for the Milano Cortina 2026 Winter Olympic and Paralympic Games [[2]].The relay, which began in Rome after being ignited in Ancient Olympia, is designed to connect communities and showcase Italy’s cultural heritage ahead of the February 6th opening ceremonies [[2]]. Sunday’s leg focused on highlighting the unique landscapes and traditions of northeast Italy, from the Prosecco Hills to Renaissance cities.
The Olympic Flame continued its journey toward the Milano Cortina 2026 Winter Games on Sunday, January 25th, winding through the historically rich and scenic regions of Friuli-Venezia Giulia and Veneto. The relay is a crucial step in building excitement as the Games draw closer.
Today’s schedule
The day’s leg kicked off at 9:20 am in Pordenone, with 28 torchbearers carrying the flame onward to Conegliano, arriving at approximately 11:45 am. Conegliano serves as a gateway to the stunning Prosecco Hills of Conegliano and Valdobbiadene, a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2019, celebrated for its unique landscape of vineyards, forests, and charming villages.
The Flame then moved to Vittorio Veneto at 12:55 pm, before continuing in the afternoon to Valdobbiadene, expected to arrive around 3:30 pm. A further push brought the relay to Feltre by 4:30 pm, a city renowned for its Renaissance architecture and beautifully frescoed palaces.
After a stop in Trichiana at 6:15 pm, the relay culminated in Belluno, arriving at 7:30 pm. The city welcomed the brazier with a community celebration in Piazza dei Martiri, featuring 14 individual torchbearers and 20 more participating in groups.
Throughout the stage, the relay highlighted local traditions with stops at key locations like Le Rughe – Tenuta di Cor, Borgo Palù, and numerous wineries dotting the hillsides. These vineyards represent centuries of agricultural heritage, now blending traditional practices with modern wine management and environmental stewardship. The route showcased the unique connection between the land, the community, and the natural beauty that defines the Prosecco Hills.
