After more than a decade of planning, construction delays, and setbacks, Morocco’s tallest skyscraper, the Mohammed VI Tower, has officially opened in Rabat.

The 55-story tower, standing 250 meters (820 feet) tall, was inaugurated following years of challenges that included financial hurdles, technical complexities, and shifting project timelines. Officials confirmed the completion marks a significant milestone in the country’s urban development efforts.

Designed as a mixed-use complex, the tower features office spaces, residential units, and public areas intended to showcase modern Moroccan architecture and engineering capabilities. The building’s completion comes after extensive work to address structural and logistical issues that had stalled progress since initial groundbreaking in the early 2010s.

Media representatives were given access to the upper levels during a recent press visit, offering views from the summit of the structure. The tower’s design incorporates elements intended to reflect national identity while meeting international standards for high-rise construction.

Project stakeholders emphasized that the tower represents not only an architectural achievement but also a symbol of Morocco’s commitment to sustainable urban growth and technological advancement in North Africa.

The Mohammed VI Tower now stands as the country’s premier high-rise development, joining other major infrastructure projects that have transformed Rabat’s skyline over the past decade.
