Moroccan highway authorities are preparing for a surge in traffic as the school holiday period approaches, a time when domestic tourism and family travel considerably increase throughout the Kingdom [[1]]. The National Motorway Company of Morocco (ADM) is alerting drivers to anticipated congestion on specific dates in early and mid-December and offering guidance for safer travel. These advisories come as Morocco continues to develop its infrastructure to accommodate a growing number of vehicles on its roadways [[2]].

Moroccan highway officials are anticipating significant traffic congestion during the upcoming school holiday period and are advising motorists to plan accordingly.

The National Motorway Company of Morocco (ADM) announced that increased traffic volume is expected on several dates, coinciding with the start and end of school breaks. Specifically, the ADM forecasts heavy traffic on Friday, December 5, 2025, between 3 p.m. and 10 p.m., and again on Saturday, December 6, 2025, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Return traffic, as students head back to school, is predicted to be particularly heavy on Sunday, December 14, 2025, between 4 p.m. and 10 p.m.

To ensure a safe and smooth journey, the ADM recommends that drivers organize their trips in advance and download the ADM TRAFFIC app to stay informed about real-time traffic conditions. The agency also urges motorists to monitor weather alerts and exercise caution during periods of strong winds, rain, or fog.

Drivers are advised to take breaks every two hours and check their tire condition. The ADM also reminds travelers to avoid using the emergency shoulder except in genuine emergencies and to verify the balance on their Jawaz Pass, a toll payment system, and recharge it if necessary.

The Jawaz Pass is now available for purchase and recharge at service area shops along the national motorway network, according to the ADM. This expansion of access points is part of an ongoing effort to improve service quality and provide a secure and comfortable travel experience for motorists. The increased availability of the pass aims to streamline toll payments and reduce congestion at toll plazas.
