José Mourinho addressed the media following Benfica’s match against Alverca, raising concerns about the officiating.

José Mourinho spoke to reporters after Benfica’s victory over Alverca and voiced his criticism of the match’s refereeing decisions:

Penalty appeals? I want to be honest and I haven’t seen it yet on television or on my computer. I don’t want to create a fool of myself by speaking without knowing. I have a feeling that they all could have been penalties, but I doubt that any of the three were scandalous. What happens is that today’s refereeing allows for one to be given one day and not another. In this championship, I am certain that these penalties, with another team, would be penalties. What happens with Benfica, since I arrived, I have the feeling that everything that is doubtful, for our side, doesn’t proceed our way. But maybe today’s penalties aren’t… And if they aren’t, okay.” he stated during the post-match press conference.

Bruno Pires Costa, from the Viana do Castelo FA, served as the referee for the match.
