Indonesian singer and politician Mulan Jameela has addressed recent online accusations circulating on social media.

The wife of Ahmad Dhani has been alleged to have made statements critical of teachers, suggesting they should focus on improving quality rather than simply demanding higher salaries.

Jameela says she was surprised to find her personal social media posts flooded with harsh criticism regarding statements she claims she never made.

“Meisya posted a collaboration with me on Instagram. The next day, I saw a lot of comments saying, ‘What’s your quality like that you can comment about teachers?’ There were also comments like, ‘Mulan: teachers should improve quality, don’t just demand salaries.’ ‘What’s your quality?’ things like that,” Mulan Jameela said in the Kemang area of South Jakarta on Thursday, March 26, 2026.

The performer of the song “Makhluk Tuhan Paling Sexy” explained that she doesn’t have the authority to comment on teacher welfare. This is since her position on the DPR RI places her on Commission VI, which oversees industry, investment, and business competition, not Commission X, which handles education.

“Because I happen to be assigned to Commission VI in the DPR RI, where its functions are also outside of the teaching profession, and have no connection to teachers. And it’s impossible for me to suddenly make a statement or corner the teaching profession. It’s really impossible because I truly respect teachers,” Mulan Jameela emphasized.

Jameela feels she has been harmed by the spread of this misinformation, as it could damage her relationships with educators, including the teachers of her children. She expressed feeling hurt by being portrayed as someone who doesn’t appreciate those she calls “heroes without medals.”

“I can’t stay silent and accept this hoax news about its connection to teachers, especially giving negative statements cornering a teacher, I can’t stay silent. That’s why I’m making a clarification. My obligation is to straighten out that it is hoax news,” Mulan Jameela stated.
