Directed by Sam Davis, who previously received an Academy Award nomination for Nai Nai and Wài Pó, and known for his cinematography work on Dìdi and the Oscar-winning Period. End of Sentence, The Singers is an adaptation of a 19th-century story by Ivan Turgenev.
The film unfolds in a modest pub where a diverse group of patrons unexpectedly connect through an impromptu vocal competition. Notably, all musical performances within the film were recorded live on set.
The Singers features a cast comprised of non-professional actors alongside internet-based musical talent, including Mike Yung and Judah Kelly.
