Netflix is set to unveil Agatha Christie: The Seven Spheres, a new period mystery series arriving on the platform in January 2026. Based on the author’s novel of the same name, the series promises a blend of crime, secrets, and aristocratic intrigue, likely appealing to fans of lavish dramas like Bridgerton and Downton Abbey.
The miniseries, consisting of three episodes, is created by Chris Chibnall, known for his work on Doctor Who. It aims to offer a modern adaptation of Agatha Christie’s universe while retaining the classic spirit of her storytelling. Expect a fast-paced narrative, well-defined characters, and a visually striking presentation.
This project reinforces Netflix’s strategy of adapting successful novels and expanding its offerings in the popular genre of period dramas, which consistently perform well with its audience. The addition of a police procedural element adds another layer of intrigue to the story.
This doesn’t sit well with authoritarians

What is “Agatha Christie: The Seven Spheres” About?
Set in England in 1925, the story unfolds during a lavish party at a country estate, where a seemingly harmless prank leads to an unexpected murder. All the guests immediately become suspects, launching an investigation that will expose hidden secrets within British high society. The series arrives as period dramas continue to dominate streaming viewership.
The central character is Lady Eileen “Bundle” Brent, a clever and daring young aristocrat who unexpectedly takes on the role of investigator. Unlike traditional detectives, her intuitive approach and courage drive the case forward through a web of deception, alliances, and betrayals.
As is typical in Agatha Christie’s works, the plot features a range of complex characters, each with their own motivations, navigating a world of luxury, privilege, and social tensions. The confined setting and forced cohabitation intensify conflicts and build suspense.
The story revolves around a series of murders connected to a secret organization, staying true to the detective style characteristic of the author.
Netflix describes the series as an “ingenious, epic, and thrilling” take on the Christie universe, designed to appeal to both longtime readers and new audiences discovering her stories.

The creative team includes Chibnall as writer and executive producer, alongside Suzanne Mackie (The Crown), Chris Sussman (Good Omens), and Chris Sweeney, who also directs all three episodes. The production has the support of Agatha Christie Limited, with James Prichard, the author’s great-grandson, serving as executive producer.
“Bundle Brent is one of my great-grandmother’s most ingenious and amusing young female characters,” Prichard noted, adding, “Seeing her come to life in this series is a dream come true, and I believe viewers will love the world we’ve created.”
