New Italian Orchestra: Free Naples Concert in Foggia for New Year’s Eve

Foggia will welcome the New Year with a free public concert in Piazza Cavour on December 31st, featuring the renowned Nuova Orchestra italiana and vocalist Francesca Schiavo. The orchestra, founded three decades ago by the celebrated musician and television personality Renzo Arbore [[2]],will perform a selection of beloved Neapolitan songs. This event provides a festive chance to experience the cultural heritage of Naples, a region with a long and storied musical tradition [[3]].

Foggia is set to ring in the New Year with a free concert featuring the sounds of the Nuova Orchestra Italiana on December 31st at 10:00 PM in Piazza Cavour. The performance will showcase beloved classics of Neapolitan song, offering a nostalgic trip for music lovers.

The orchestra, originally formed 30 years ago by Renzo Arbore, boasts a 14-member ensemble. Audiences can expect to hear iconic songs such as ‘Voce ‘e notte’, ‘Torna a Surriento’, ‘Era de Maggio’, ‘’O paese d‘o sole’, ‘Luna rossa’, ‘Come facette mammeta’, ‘O sarracino’, ‘Cocorito’, ‘Aumm aumm’, ‘Terùn Terùn’, ‘Pigliate ‘na pastiglia’, ‘Maruzzella’, and many more.

Adding to the evening’s magic will be the vocals of Francesca Schiavo. The Nuova Orchestra Italiana’s lineup includes Gianni Conte, Barbara Buonaiuto, Mariano Caiano, Giovanni Imparato, Massimo Volpe, Michele Montefusco, Marco Manusso, Nicola Cantatore, Peppe Sannino, Roberto Ciscognetti, Massimo Cecchetti, Raffaele La Ragione, Salvatore Esposito, and Salvatore della Vecchia.
