Four men are facing serious charges in connection with a brutal assault and sexual assault that occurred in Oslo last November. The defendants, ranging in age from their 30s to 40s, are accused of both direct participation and enabling a violent attack on a man in his 20s, allegedly using multiple objects as weapons. Formal indictments, detailed in reporting by Avisa Oslo, outline a disturbing sequence of events and raise questions about the extent of the alleged conspiracy. The case is scheduled to be heard in court this January.
Four men, ranging in age from their 30s to 40s, are facing charges in connection with a violent assault and sexual assault that occurred last November. The men are accused of both participating in and enabling a brutal attack on a man in his 20s, which included the use of multiple objects during the assault.
The men, all in their 30s and 40s, are accused of aiding and abetting in a sexual assault, as well as contributing to serious bodily harm, according to Avisa Oslo.
Prosecutors allege the defendants conspired to commit sexual assault through the use of violence and threats. They are also charged with assisting in causing severe physical injury.
The alleged incident took place in November of last year. The indictment details how a man in his 20s was reportedly struck, pushed, choked, punched, and kicked in the head. Authorities claim the four suspects used a metal rod, cord, oil, and a rolling pin during the assault.
The victim reportedly lost consciousness, had a tooth knocked out, and sustained multiple cuts to his body.
Attorneys representing three of the defendants have spoken to Avisa Oslo. One attorney stated their client admits to acts of violence and making threats, but denies any involvement in the sexual assault with the rolling pin.
Tor Even Gjendem, representing another defendant, said they are prepared to challenge the accusations in court. The lawyer for a third defendant stated their client maintains their innocence.
The stance of the fourth suspect remains unclear.
The case is scheduled to be heard in court in January.
