Guyane’s healthcare professionals are set to showcase their scientific work at the 9th edition of the Journées des Travaux Scientifiques (JDS), taking place on April 22 and 23, 2026.
The event, hosted by the Institut Santé des Populations en Amazonie (ISPA) in Cayenne, centers on the theme “Nos soignant.e.s ont du talent” and aims to highlight local expertise in clinical research.
Open to all health professionals in Guyane since 2021, the annual gathering brings together hospital staff, researchers, university representatives, liberal caregivers, local associations, health authorities, and other sector actors.
This year’s program includes conferences, mini-presentations, and poster sessions covering key topics such as innovations in healthcare delivery, sexual and perinatal health—including efforts to combat congenital syphilis—emergency response and toxicology trends, and advances in infectious diseases like leptospirosis, HIV (through the GUYAVIM study), and meningitis.
The JDS serves as a platform for sharing scientific work and strengthening collaboration across Guyane’s health ecosystem, with organizers emphasizing the importance of frontline professionals’ contributions to medicine tailored to Amazonian realities.
According to event details, the 9th JDS builds on a tradition that began in 2017, reinforcing Guyane’s growing role in regional health research and innovation.
