Singer Nucha is awaiting eye surgery and spoke about her health in a video posted to her Instagram page on Friday, February 13, revealing she was misled during a recent trip to Brazil.
“I’m not well yet, but I haven’t had surgery,” she began to explain.
Nucha detailed undergoing numerous tests and having surgery scheduled, which should have already taken place. However, the procedure was derailed by a series of complications that gave her pause.
The singer was prepared for the medical procedure, having followed all instructions, including fasting, when she arrived at the health facility and discovered the surgery wouldn’t be happening – at least, not as previously planned.
“Everything was very clear in October, but when I arrived, I was given additional tests that weren’t necessary because I’d already had them done. It seemed they were trying to get more money from me. I was presented with a completely different budget [than the one given in October] – one I wasn’t prepared for. It ended up being a third more than what I was originally quoted,” she said, adding that this wasn’t even the most upsetting part of the situation.
“Among many strange things, suddenly being in a conversation with the doctor was the most surreal part of it all,” she stated, explaining she was given the option to choose “the vision I wanted for the rest of my life.” “To notice up close and far away, to see up close only, or to pay a third more of the budget that wasn’t given to me.”
This was because the lens she was going to receive actually cost more than the price she had been initially told. And that wasn’t all. “They were giving that price to do the surgery that day, but the supposed lens had to be ordered.”
Nucha noted that she initially felt confident in the doctor, as she had previously operated on her mother. “It was all very strange.”
“God protected me from being operated on by that woman. I would have had to wear glasses for the rest of my life – I was going to have an operation supposedly so I wouldn’t have to wear glasses – and it would have been irreversible. Because she said she couldn’t place another lens in my eye throughout my life,” she commented.
She is now awaiting updates from Portugal’s national health service (SNS), as her family doctor referred her case to Hospital Egas Moniz, but she has not yet been scheduled for an appointment.
Despite this, considering the news of “disasters” happening due to the bad weather in Portugal, Nucha emphasized that her situation “is nothing.”
This news comes days after Nucha mourned the loss of her “mother of the heart.”
“What sad news I received. My dear mother, as I affectionately called her! Much strength and courage to my dear Maria Lisboa. For her, Maria Emília Silva Vieira was like a real mother… Much strength and courage to her daughter, Anysabel Vieira! Another wonderful person leaves us, and the world becomes a little poorer… I’m left with the wonderful memories of a fantastic human being! Rest in peace, mother.”
Nucha also grieved the death of her friend Maria Amaral, the daughter of Delfina Cruz, who was murdered.
After learning of the real estate agent’s death, the singer wrote on social media: “My dear Maria Amaral… I don’t know what to write… May your soul rest with your beloved mother. I’m so, so upset with what I’m seeing in this world.”
