OnePlus 15 Global Launch Set for November 13
OnePlus announced today that its highly anticipated OnePlus 15 smartphone will debut globally on November 13, bringing its latest flagship features to a wider audience.
The announcement follows the phone’s launch in China earlier this week, where it was unveiled with the new Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor, a 6.78-inch display boasting a 165Hz refresh rate, and a substantial 7,300-mAh battery. The device also supports 120-watt wired charging, though US models may offer different charging speeds. Available colors will include Sand Storm, black, and purple, with the Sand Storm version utilizing a material reportedly more durable than titanium.
One significant change for the OnePlus 15 is the removal of the iconic Alert Slider, replaced by a customizable button – a feature similar to the Action Button introduced on recent iPhone models. This early launch date is a departure for OnePlus, which typically releases new models in January; the company also skipped the number 14 in its numbering sequence, mirroring a previous decision to move from the OnePlus 3 to the OnePlus 5 in 2017. The shift to a November release could allow OnePlus to capture more of the holiday shopping season.
The OnePlus 15 is expected to ship with Android 16 and the OxygenOS interface, offering users the latest in Android software. For more information on smartphone operating systems, visit Android.com. Further details regarding global availability and pricing will be revealed during the November 13 launch event.
The OnePlus 15’s global launch is just two weeks away. OnePlus announced Wednesday that the upcoming phone will get its grand reveal on Nov. 13.
The announcement comes just two days after the OnePlus 15 launched in China, featuring the new Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor, a 6.78-inch display with a 165Hz refresh rate and a big 7,300-mAh battery. The phone also includes a 120-watt wired charging speed for this model, although it’s worth noting that most US-bound OnePlus phones do not match the same charging speeds.
The global date announcement does feature the same three colors that the China model launched with, including Sand Storm, black and purple. OnePlus previously announced that the Sand Storm model will be made from a material that’s tougher than titanium. The Alert Slider is also not returning, instead being replaced by a customizable button — likely similar to the Action Button that we’ve seen on recent iPhone models.
The November launch for the OnePlus 15 is early for the company, as prior OnePlus models have launched in January — including the OnePlus 13 from earlier this year. OnePlus is skipping the number 14, but there is some precedence for this with the company also skipping the number 4 when moving from the OnePlus 3 to the OnePlus 5 in 2017.
The OnePlus 15 is otherwise expected to ship with Android 16 and the OxygenOS overlay. We’ll find out more when the phone’s Nov. 13 global launch arrives.
