Oppo’s next-generation foldable phone is quietly taking shape, with increasing signs pointing to an imminent launch. The Find N6 recently appeared in a Geekbench database listing, showcasing a unique processor configuration: a 7-core version of the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, which has not yet been officially announced.

The benchmark details reveal the device utilizes two prime cores, capable of clock speeds up to 4.61 GHz, alongside five performance cores running at 3.63 GHz. This configuration is notably different from the typical 8-core setup, missing one performance core. Graphics processing is handled by the Adreno 840 GPU, achieving an OpenCL score of 24,103. The CPU scored 3,524 in single-core tests and 9,090 in multi-core tests. The listing also confirms the phone runs Android 16 and is equipped with 16GB of RAM.

Notably, Qualcomm has not yet officially announced this 7-core Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 variant. This isn’t entirely unprecedented, as the previous Oppo Find N5 also utilized a 7-core Elite chip, suggesting the foldable form factor’s unique thermal and spatial constraints may necessitate a slightly streamlined core count.

Foldable devices present significant engineering challenges, including limited internal space, heat management, and battery life. A slightly reduced core configuration could be Qualcomm’s approach to optimizing sustained performance without generating excessive heat. The early benchmark results suggest the Find N6’s launch is drawing near, signaling increased competition in the rapidly evolving foldable smartphone market.
