Supermodel Pavlína Pořízková recently reflected on the early days of her career, recalling a time when she accepted nudity as a standard part of the modeling industry.

Speaking recently, Pořízková stated, “I took it for granted that I was supposed to take my clothes off.” The comments came during a discussion about experiences with unwanted advances and the pressures faced by young models.

Born April 9, 1965, in Prostějov, Czechoslovakia, Pořízková rose to prominence as a supermodel, becoming the first woman from Central Europe and the youngest model in history to appear on the cover of Sports Illustrated’s swimsuit issue. iDNES.cz reports that she has now spoken openly about the expectations she faced early in her career.

Pořízková’s career extends beyond modeling; she has also worked as a film and television actress, author, and film director. She was married to musician Ric Ocasek from 1989 to 2019 and is currently in a relationship with Jeff Greenstein. According to her Wikipedia page, she has children named Jonathan Raven Ocasek and Oliver Orion Ocasek.

The model’s reflections offer a glimpse into the evolving standards and challenges within the fashion industry, sparking conversations about consent and the treatment of models. This discussion arrives as the entertainment industry continues to grapple with issues of power dynamics, and accountability.
