. Director Peter Mimi has responded to comments made by Ella Wawie, spokesperson for the Israeli Defense Forces, who criticized his series “Sahab Al-Ard” (Companions of the Land), currently airing during Ramadan 2026.
Mimi posted on Facebook: “What’s this about falsifying facts? The videos are available. Honestly, I searched everywhere to find an actress who resembled you. Victory to the oppressed.”
Criticism from the IDF Spokesperson
The newly appointed spokesperson for the Israeli Defense Forces, in a video posted to her Instagram account, claimed: “Art is a message, but only when it’s pure. Otherwise, it’s brainwashing and falsifying facts. Incitement isn’t just shouting and loud talk; it can be a series, a detailed scene, a story created to turn the killer into a victim and the victim into the accused. ‘Sahab Al-Ard’ isn’t drama; it’s historical forgery and intentional distortion, a cheap representation of the truth. The real ‘Companions of the Land’ are those who defended their land, their children, and their homes. Be honest and tell the whole story.”
