The “Petrohan” Case: What Secrets Does the Recovered Phone Hold?
The investigation into the deaths of three men near Petrohan is taking a technological turn as authorities examine a phone recovered from the scene. While the exact model of the device hasn’t been officially released, preliminary analysis is already offering clues, according to reports.
The case began on February 2, when the bodies of Decho Iliev, Ivaylo Ivanov, and Plamen Stanev were discovered at the Petrohan chalet. A week later, on February 8, three individuals wanted for questioning – Ivaylo Kalushev, Nikolai Zlatkov, and 15-year-aged Alexander Makulev – were found dead in a camper van near Mount Okolchitsa in the Trojan Balkan mountains.
All materials from both investigations, concerning the deaths at Petrohan and near Mount Okolchitsa, have been submitted to parliament. A stipulation has been made that lawmakers refrain from disclosing details about the private lives of those questioned, or any information that could damage their reputations. This was announced in a statement from the prosecutor’s office on Friday.
Recent developments include the release of witness testimonies, revealing startling details about the activities of Ivaylo Kalushev and his followers over the past 15 years. One witness recounted joining Kalushev’s group in 2010, at the age of 14. The testimony describes the group’s acquisition of an 18-meter yacht and a property with an underwater cave in Mexico, funded by the witness’s mother.
“I received the interrogations of a young man who was brought to Kalushev by his mother in 2010. At the time, the boy was 14-15 years old, today he is a man over 30,” a reporter explained. “He talks about the period when Kalushev left Bulgaria and went to live in Mexico. The interrogation is from February 10. The other two interrogations are from February 11. The date is very important since these are the interrogations of the parents of the 15-year-old boy whose lifeless body was found in Kalushev’s camper van near Okolchitsa.”
The case has captivated the nation, prompting a flurry of media coverage and public interest. The investigation continues as authorities seek to piece together the events leading up to these tragic deaths.
