The Evnia 27M2N6591L arrives amid a broader industry trend of manufacturers streamlining connectivity options, with some models now omitting USB Type-C ports.

Philips has announced the Evnia 27M2N6591L monitor, slated to arrive in stores this December. The monitor is priced at approximately $1,150.

The new display aims to deliver a premium experience for gamers and creative professionals, leveraging advanced display technology to enhance visual fidelity. The Evnia 27M2N6591L features a 26.5-inch QD-OLED panel with a 2560 x 1440 resolution, a rapid 240Hz refresh rate, and a wide color gamut capable of displaying 1.07 billion colors.

The monitor also boasts compatibility with NVIDIA G-Sync technology and supports HDMI 2.1 connectivity. Philips is offering a three-year warranty on the OLED panel and will provide firmware updates via USB.

Users can customize their gaming experience with Evnia Precision Center software. Additional features include MultiView for dual-screen setups, LowBlue Mode, Flicker-Free technology, and an adjustable stand.

“With the new Philips Evnia 27M2N6501L, we wanted to create a monitor that delivers a true upgrade, not just in terms of specifications, but also in the overall experience,” said Cesar Reyes Acosta, Lead Product Manager, Consumer Monitors at MMD. “QD-OLED brings extraordinary clarity and contrast to every frame, while the 240Hz refresh rate keeps gameplay perfectly smooth and fluid. Combined with the elegant and distinctive design, the monitor perfectly embodies the Evnia spirit – premium technology that inspires and is accessible to all.”

Further details available on the Philips website reveal a 0.03ms response time, a 178-degree viewing angle, and coverage of 98% of the Adobe RGB color space, 99% of DCI-P3, 147.5% of sRGB, and 120% of NTSC.

The monitor also features a pixel density of 111 ppi and supports HDR10. Connectivity options include 2x HDMI 2.1 ports, 1x DisplayPort 1.4, a USB hub with USB 3.2 Gen 1 (up to 5Gbps), a USB-B upstream port, and two USB-A downstream ports, one of which offers fast charging capabilities.

Dimensions are 609 x 355 x 61 mm without the stand, and 609 x 531 x 261 mm with the stand. The monitor weighs 4.19 kg without the stand and 5.98 kg with it. Included in the box are DisplayPort and HDMI cables, a USB cable, and a power cord.

The monitor is VESA 100×100 compatible and features Ambiglow lighting on three sides.

At a price of $1,150, the Evnia 27M2N6591L appears to be competitively positioned. While not a QD-OLED offering from LG or Samsung, Philips brings its own expertise to the table, and the monitor presents an interesting option for both gaming and tasks like photo and video editing – though the 26.5-inch diagonal may be relatively small for some professional workflows.

Notably, the latest generation of monitors appears to be dropping USB Type-C ports for display connectivity. This trend, observed in models from BenQ and LG, warrants further investigation, potentially related to limitations in USB Type-C’s ability to support higher refresh rates.
