Poco is preparing to launch a special edition of the X8 Pro smartphone themed around the Iron Man franchise, according to recent filings. The “Poco X8 Pro Iron Man Edition” appeared in the database of Thailand’s NBTC, and is expected to be a rebranded version of the Redmi Turbo 5.
The upcoming device is anticipated to feature a 1.5K resolution display. Sebastian Pier of Phonearena.com reports that, alongside the Iron Man edition, a standard Poco X8 Pro has also been listed for certification in Europe, India, and Indonesia.
The Poco X8 Pro is shaping up to be a strong contender in the gaming smartphone segment, boasting support for high refresh rate displays and advanced AI tasks. The phone will utilize a 6.78-inch AMOLED full HD+ screen with a peak brightness of 3,000 nits. This focus on display quality reflects a broader trend of manufacturers prioritizing immersive visual experiences for mobile gaming and multimedia consumption.
The display will also support HDR10+ and Dolby Vision, and will be protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 5. On the rear, the device is expected to include a 64MP camera, potentially utilizing either the Sony IMX882 or Samsung GW3 sensor, alongside an 8MP ultrawide lens with an f/2.2 aperture and a 2MP macro camera.
The front-facing camera will offer a resolution of 20MP with an f/2.2 aperture, and is designed to enhance image processing through AI algorithms and an improved Pro Mode. Users can anticipate improved low-light performance in 4K video recording at 60fps.
Powering the device will be a 6,210mAh battery paired with 100W fast charging, designed to support extended gaming sessions. Poco is also expected to transition the X8 Pro to Xiaomi’s novel HyperOS, replacing MIUI for a smoother and more responsive user experience.
The Poco X8 Pro is positioned as a mid-range gaming phone, and will likely feature LiquidCool 4.0 technology for sustained performance, as well as a dedicated gaming mode with performance tuning. Benchmark results reportedly reveal the device achieving a score of over 950,000 in AnTuTu v10.
Early reports suggest the phone will also feature a more refined design with slimmer bezels and a centered punch-hole camera.
