Several districts are bracing for heavy rainfall and strong winds, with coastal areas facing waves up to 33 feet high.

A yellow warning is in effect from 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM local time, and the affected districts entered the warning period starting at midnight Tuesday.
During the same period (6:00 AM to 6:00 PM), Bragança, Guarda, Setúbal, Santarém, Leiria (starting at 3:00 AM Tuesday), Castelo Branco, and Coimbra (starting at 3:00 AM Tuesday) are under a yellow warning, according to the latest statement from the IPMA.
On Wednesday, until 6:00 PM, Bragança, Viseu, Porto, Guarda, Vila Real, Setúbal, Santarém, Viana do Castelo, Lisbon, Leiria, Castelo Branco, Aveiro, Coimbra, Portalegre, and Braga will be under a yellow warning for rain.
Porto, Viana do Castelo, Aveiro, Coimbra, and Braga will be under an orange warning for maritime unrest between 3:00 PM Wednesday and 3:00 PM Thursday, due to “northwesterly waves with a significant height of 5 to 6 meters, potentially reaching a maximum height of 11 meters.” These districts will then move to a yellow warning until 7:00 PM Thursday.
Beja, Leiria, Lisbon, Setúbal, and Faro will be under a yellow warning for maritime unrest until 7:00 PM Thursday.
Bragança, Viseu, Porto, Guarda, Vila Real, Viana do Castelo, Castelo Branco, and Braga will be under a yellow warning for wind from 12:00 PM Wednesday to 9:00 PM Thursday, according to the IPMA.
Persistent rain will continue to affect mainland Portugal in the coming days, particularly in the North and Center, areas where there is already an excess of accumulated water due to the bad weather, meteorologist Alexandra Fonseca told Lusa.
