British police are investigating evidence suggesting Prince Andrew shared confidential information with the late convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. According to The Guardian, the former prince and Duke of York allegedly forwarded official reports from some of his overseas trips to Epstein while serving as the UK’s Special Representative for International Trade and Investment between 2010 and 2011.
Newly revealed details from recently unsealed Epstein files indicate that Prince Andrew provided Epstein with certain confidential information regarding his work trips to Asia. For example, an archived email conversation shows that on October 7, 2010, Prince Andrew informed Epstein of details concerning his upcoming travels to Singapore, Vietnam, China, and Hong Kong.
The prince then forwarded official reports from those completed trips to Epstein on November 30, reportedly just five minutes after receiving them from his assistant, Amit Patel. It remains unclear whether the forwarded reports contained sensitive business information, the report states.
This email communication between the younger brother of King Charles III and Jeffrey Epstein occurred in 2010, two years after the American financier was found guilty of sex abuse by a U.S. Court.
Prince Andrew previously stated in an interview with BBC that he had ceased contact with Epstein after that date. However, evidence suggests that between Christmas 2010 and February 2011, Prince Andrew informed Epstein of various investment opportunities.
Prince William and Princess Catherine have expressed their deep concern regarding the latest information in the Jeffrey Epstein case, according to a statement released Monday by the British royal family. The statement, issued ahead of William’s three-day trip to Saudi Arabia, is the monarchy’s most recent response to the ongoing controversy.
