Los Angeles, CA – A Southern California singer known as D4vd has been charged with first-degree murder in connection with the death of 14-year-old Celeste Rivas Hernandez, whose remains were discovered in the trunk of a Tesla in September 2025. Prosecutors have presented evidence linking David Burke, also known as D4vd, to the murder of Rivas Hernandez, who had been reported missing in April 2024. The Lake Elsinore girl’s body was found on September 8, 2025, inside a Tesla that had been impounded at a Los Angeles tow yard after being abandoned in the Hollywood Hills for over a month, according to court documents.

The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner’s Office determined that Rivas Hernandez died from multiple penetrating injuries caused by an object or objects. Further investigation revealed allegations of sexual abuse and mutilation of the victim’s remains. Burke faces additional charges including continuous sexual abuse of a child under the age of 14 and unlawful mutilation of human remains.

According to reports, authorities allege that Burke and Rivas Hernandez knew each other for several years, with the relationship beginning when the victim was 11 years old. Prosecutors claim that sexual contact occurred between the two approximately two years later. Infobae reported that prosecutors revealed the pair first met when Rivas Hernandez was 11 years old.
