Following the release of clips from the podcast, members of Villafañe’s family publicly criticized Ocampo on social media, alleging he wasn’t being truthful about the support he provided during her illness and hadn’t given her the attention she needed.

However, a photograph resurfaced online, seemingly supporting Ocampo’s account. The image was originally shared by Alejandra’s mother years ago.

The photo, shared by the Instagram account Le tengo el chisme, shows Alejandra’s mother with Ocampo, and includes a caption thanking him for his support during her daughter’s illness. “Brave boyfriend. Thank you Raúl Ocampo, for everything, with my girl Alejandra Villafañe,” the caption reads.

The resurfaced image prompted an outpouring of support for Ocampo online, with many users defending him against the family’s accusations. Comments included, “I don’t believe he would make up being with her” and “Her mom is writing words of love, but they say he was a bad boyfriend.”

Family Claims Ocampo Filed Lawsuit

However, the story took another turn when Claudia Villafañe, a cousin of the actress, claimed on Instagram that Ocampo hadn’t been entirely forthcoming and was often absent during Alejandra’s illness.

She also alleged that Ocampo had filed a lawsuit against Alejandra’s parents regarding financial matters.

“The proceeds of her work were claimed by her partner through a lawsuit against her parents for her pension, which was unnecessary because by law we know it belonged to him, but with this act he showed us what really moves his heart, money that, of course, doesn’t interest her mother because with the great pain she carries in her soul, money is insignificant,” she wrote.

The unfolding situation highlights the complexities of grief and public scrutiny following a loss, and the challenges of navigating family dynamics during difficult times. Ocampo, known for his roles in television and his appearance on MasterChef Celebrity, has yet to publicly respond to the latest allegations.
