Capcom Details Leon Kennedy’s Role in Resident Evil Requiem
According to Capcom, gameplay will be split nearly evenly between sections featuring Grace and those featuring Leon.
Nakanishi, a representative from Capcom, compared the game’s structure to that of Resident Evil: Revelations, which featured both Chris Redfield and Jill Valentine as playable characters.
“It’s almost like having two games with completely different types of tension mixed together,” Nakanishi explained. “We were initially worried players wouldn’t be able to keep up, but now we believe the contrast gives the game a unique rhythm, like diving into a cold bath after being in a hot sauna (laughs).”
“The battle this time will push Leon to his limits more than ever before, and that’s a crucial part of the experience,” Nakanishi added. “He’s the type who won’t hesitate to sacrifice himself to save others, but he isn’t arrogant about it and has a passionate soul. I hope you’ll also appreciate his subtle humor and refined sarcasm that only a mature man can have.”
“Although he is a character who has a lot of responsibility on his shoulders, we paid close attention to refining him to make him an ‘ikeoji’ (an older, charming and attractive man),” Nakanishi concluded. “The reactions to the trailer on that front made us happy (laughs).”
