Riyadh Airport Road Closure: ‘The Sports Path’ Project Updates

A section of Airport Road in Riyadh will be temporarily closed this week as work continues on the Riyadh Path project, a major urban development initiative aimed at enhancing quality of life in the Saudi capital.

The closure will affect the portion of Airport Road between its intersection with Dammam Road and its intersection with Prince Mohammed bin Salman Road, from 5:00 a.m. To 9:00 a.m. On Friday, March 13, and Saturday, March 14. The work will focus on the removal of electricity towers as part of the current phase of the project.

The Riyadh Path project is envisioned as the largest linear park of its kind, connecting the west and east sides of Riyadh over a distance exceeding 135 kilometers. It will serve as a comprehensive urban artery featuring:

Dedicated paths for walking, running, and cycling.

Extensive green spaces designed to improve the environment.
