The international football community will gather in Qatar tonight for the 2025 Best FIFA Football Awards, where the coveted Puskás Award for the year’s most stunning goal will be presented. Indonesia is represented among the nominees thanks to a remarkable long-distance strike by defender Rizky Ridho during the 2024/25 Liga 1 season [[1]]. The 2025 Best FIFA Football Awards, including the Puskas Award, will be presented Tuesday evening, December 16, 2025. Will Rizky Ridho be in Qatar for the ceremony?
According to the schedule, the FIFA Awards will begin at 8:00 PM local time, or 12:00 AM WIB on Wednesday, December 17th. Indonesia has a representative in the running for an award: Rizky Ridho.

Rizky Ridho is nominated for the Puskas Award thanks to a stunning long-distance goal against Arema FC in the 2024/25 Liga 1 season. Ridho’s goal, struck from nearly the halfway line, is a strong contender for the award recognizing the best goal of the year.
With the 2025/26 Super League currently on hiatus, Ridho had the opportunity to attend the ceremony in person. However, Persija Jakarta has opted to send another representative to Qatar for the FIFA Awards announcement.
“It seems Mas Bepe (Bambang Pamungkas, Persija’s Director of Football) will be going to Qatar,” said Persija Director Mohamad Prapanca.
Persija has already resumed training in preparation for the continuation of the Super League. Carlos Eduardo and the team returned to the Persija Training Ground in Sawangan, Depok, on December 12th.
Persija is scheduled to travel to face Semen Padang on December 22nd, making the decision to not send Ridho to Qatar understandable as the club prioritizes preparations for their upcoming match.
