A man attempting to rob a luxury car dealership was fatally shot by security staff on Tuesday, March 24, 2026. The incident occurred around 5:00 p.m. At Iconic Cars, located at the intersection of Primavera Avenue and Las Canarias Street, on the border of the San Borja and Surco districts.
According to witnesses, the suspect attempted the robbery with three accomplices. After the dealership’s alarms were triggered, security personnel confronted the group, resulting in the suspect’s death and the escape of the remaining individuals. Police are investigating the incident.

Authorities found more than 10 shell casings at the scene. The suspect’s body was discovered near the dealership, along a drainage ditch bordering Primavera Avenue, a busy thoroughfare in the capital city. Police have cordoned off the area to protect the integrity of the investigation.

According to Latina, the owner of the affected business is Bryan Gómez Mendoza, a young entrepreneur in the automotive industry who, in May 2025, allegedly fired pepper gas pellets at individuals at Jockey Plaza after being accused of fraud.
