Kocēnu Rubene asserted their dominance in the ELVI Floorball League on Saturday, delivering a decisive 12-3 victory over Lielvārde/Unihoc at Lielvārdes sporta Centrs. The win strengthens Rubene’s position among the league’s top teams, as they continue their pursuit of the championship. Ingars Matisons’ standout performance, earning him MVP honors, fueled the offensive onslaught alongside Pāvels Semjonovs’ masterful playmaking.

Rubene Dominates Lielvarde in Decisive Victory

Kocēnu Rubene delivered a commanding performance, defeating Lielvārde/Unihoc 12-3 in an ELVI Floorball League matchup. The victory solidifies Rubene’s position as a top contender in the league. Ingars Matisons and Pāvels Semjonovs each tallied five points to lead the charge for the winning side.

The game at Lielvārdes Sporta Centrs quickly tilted in favor of the visitors, as Rubene jumped out to a 4-0 lead in the first period. Mikus Edvards Ķikuts and Gustavs Siliņš found the back of the net for Rubene, while Ingars Matisons scored twice. Matisons continued his scoring spree in the second period, adding two more goals to extend Rubene’s advantage to 6-0. Lielvārde finally broke through in the 43rd minute with a goal from Oskars Tūtāns, making it 6-1, but they couldn’t mount a comeback. Kocēnu Rubene ultimately cruised to a decisive 12-3 win.

Ingars Matisons led all scorers with 5 points (4 goals, 1 assist) and was named the game’s most valuable player. Pāvels Semjonovs orchestrated the offense with five assists, while Mikus Edvards Ķikuts contributed four goals. Matīss Celms added 3 points (2 goals, 1 assist) for Rubene. Despite the loss, Lielvārde’s Lauri Kārkliņš was recognized as the top performer for his team, stopping 21 of 33 shots faced. With this win, Kocēnu Rubene now has 35 points and sits in second place in the standings, while Lielvārde/Unihoc remains in eighth with nine points.
