Los Angeles, CA – Harrison Ford received the Screen Actors Guild-AFTRA’s Life Achievement Award on Sunday, March 1, 2026, at the newly renamed Actor Awards ceremony. The honor celebrates Ford’s illustrious six-decade career, a testament to his enduring impact on cinema.

Actor Woody Harrelson presented Ford with the award, playfully teasing the audience beforehand. “I’m here to celebrate one of the greatest actors of all time — Leo DiCaprio,” Harrelson joked, before praising Ford as a talent unlike any other. “You have more talent in your little finger than I have in my little finger. Of all the actors in the world, you’re one of them.”

Harrelson further lauded Ford as a “true renaissance man,” highlighting his diverse skills. “Iconic actor, distinguished pilot and a master carpenter who built his own home,” he said, adding a lighthearted jab, “I don’t know how to work the coffee machine, and it’s a French press.”

The ceremony included a montage of Ford’s most memorable roles and blockbuster films, spanning from “Star Wars” to “Indiana Jones” and “Blade Runner.” The 83-year-old actor delivered an emotional speech, expressing his gratitude while also acknowledging he’s still actively working. “I feel incredibly grateful for this kind attention. But to be clear, I also am quite humbled,” Ford said, then quipped, “That said, it is a little weird to be receiving a lifetime achievement award at the half point of my career. It’s a little weird, isn’t it? I’m still a working actor!”

Ford also took a moment to acknowledge key figures who helped shape his career, including “Star Wars” creator George Lucas and “Indiana Jones” director Steven Spielberg. He reflected on the challenges of breaking into the industry, stating, “This is a tough business to get into. In my case, it’s a tough business to get out of. Thank God, because I love what I do.”

The Actor Awards, formerly known as the SAG Awards, represent a significant moment in Hollywood’s awards season. HuffPost reports that Ford’s recognition underscores his lasting legacy and continued relevance in the entertainment industry. Variety noted that this was Ford’s first time accepting an award from the organization, despite being a two-time nominee.

The event also saw recognition for other industry talents. Nava Wiley was also honored at the event, winning Best Actor and announcing a third season of “The Pitt.”
