Final Night Scoring and Captain Strategy in FantaSanremo

The winner tonight will receive 100 points, with second place earning 75, third place 60, fourth place 50, fifth place 40, sixth place 30, seventh place 27, eighth place 24, ninth place 21, tenth place 18, eleventh place 15, twelfth place 12, thirteenth place 10, fourteenth place 8, fifteenth place 6, sixteenth place 4 and seventeenth place 2. An eighteenth-place finish results in no points gained or lost. Artists placing nineteenth will receive a penalty of two points, twentieth a penalty of 4, twenty-first a penalty of 6, twenty-second a penalty of 8, twenty-third a penalty of 10, twenty-fourth a penalty of 12, twenty-fifth a penalty of 15, twenty-sixth a penalty of 18, twenty-seventh a penalty of 21, twenty-eighth a penalty of 24, and twenty-ninth a penalty of 27. Last place earns 30 points.

Tonight, the Captain doubles points earned solely based on final ranking – a win, for example, equates to 100 points. However, penalties are likewise doubled for Captains finishing eighteenth through twenty-eighth place; a twenty-third place finish, for instance, results in a 20-point deduction instead of 10. In other words tonight’s Captain selection should prioritize final placement over perceived performance within the show itself.

In addition to the final ranking, 30 points are awarded to the winner of the Mia Martini Critics’ Award, the Lucio Dalla Press Room Award, the Sergio Bardotti Award for Best Lyrics, and the Giancarlo Bigazzi Award for Best Musical Composition. Other awards presented on stage are worth 20 points.

FantaSanremo, the popular fantasy competition tied to the annual Sanremo Music Festival, has become a cultural phenomenon in Italy, driving engagement and social media buzz around the event. The strategic element of choosing a Captain adds another layer of excitement for players as they navigate the final night of competition.
