Santiago’s Metropolitan Park Zoo has resumed public access with a new initiative aimed at encouraging family visits: admission is now free for all guests. The reopening provides a recreational and educational option for those seeking outdoor activities in the capital city.
The move is intended to boost attendance at the zoo and promote engagement with the park’s biodiversity, even as maintaining safety measures for visitors.
Daily Capacity at the Metropolitan Zoo
A maximum of 4,000 people are permitted to enter the zoo each day. Due to this limit, visitors are encouraged to reserve their entry in advance, particularly to avoid lines or delays at the Pío Nono entrance.
How to Obtain Free Zoo Admission
To access the zoo without charge, visitors must go to the official Metropolitan Zoo website, complete a form with personal details, select a visit date, and then click “I’m not a robot” and “Get your ticket.”
Upon completion, the system will generate a code that must be presented at the ticket booths before entering the zoo. This process is also available in person with assistance from authorized staff on site.
Zoo Hours and Restrictions
The reservation system is available from Tuesday to Sunday, between 10:00 a.m. And 6:00 p.m. The zoo is closed on Mondays for maintenance.
Zoo officials remind visitors that pets are not allowed inside, and motorized vehicles are prohibited within the park grounds.
