COPPER MOUNTAIN – Mikaela Shiffrin continued her historic run Saturday, winning her third consecutive World Cup slalom race and extending her already record-breaking career total to 104 victories. The American’s dominant performance at Copper Mountain saw her finish well ahead of Germany’s Lena Dürr and Albania’s Lara Colturi, solidifying her lead in the overall World Cup standings as the circuit moves on to North America. This latest win further cements Shiffrin’s place as one of the most decorated alpine skiers in history.
COPPER MOUNTAIN – Mikaela Shiffrin continued her dominant form, winning her third slalom race of the World Cup season on Saturday.
Competing at Copper Mountain, the American star repeated her victories from Levi, Finland, and Gurgl, Austria, finishing 1.57 seconds ahead of Germany’s Lena Dürr. Albania’s Lara Colturi rounded out the podium, 1.85 seconds back.
Shiffrin’s win marked her record-breaking 104th career World Cup triumph, and her 67th in slalom. It was also her 160th World Cup podium finish and 92nd in slalom. The victory also extended her lead in the overall World Cup standings, now 90 points ahead of Colturi. Dürr jumped two places in the overall standings, passing Paula Moltzan of the United States and Julia Scheib of Austria, and now trails the leader by 144 points.

Dürr capitalized on the second run course set by her coach, improving her position by seven places. She took a risky approach, but delivered a strong finish, the best of all competitors. Colturi continued her impressive form this season, securing her third podium finish overall and in slalom.
“It’s amazing, thank you. I wish this winning streak would never end. I felt connected to the slope, the course was broken, but my skis weren’t bouncing. I have a lot of sleep ahead of me in preparation for the next races,” Shiffrin said after the race.
Slovakia was not represented at the event, as Petra Vlhová only began training on snow last month following a lengthy recovery period. The World Cup tour continues next week in North America, with women competing in giant slalom at Tremblant. The next slalom race is scheduled for December 16th in Courchevel, France.
