Seoul SK continued their strong form in the 2025-2026 KBL regular season, defeating Goyang Sono 79-59 on January 31st and extending their winning streak to three games. The victory was highlighted by the remarkable performance of rookie Eddy Daniel,a 19-year-old with a unique Korean-British heritage who is quickly becoming a fan favorite. daniel’s all-around contribution, combined with a strong showing from veteran Jamil Warney, propelled SK to a dominant win and solidified their fourth-place standing in the league. The game also marked the KBL debut of Sono’s new addition, Igidius Motkevičius.

The victory improves SK’s record to 22-14, solidifying their position in fourth place in the league standings. Sono, meanwhile, fell to 14-22 and remains seventh.
Jamil Warney and rookie Daniel led the way for SK. Warney celebrated his birthday with a strong double-double, finishing with 21 points and 9 rebounds. Alvin Tolentino added 15 points to the attack.
But it was Daniel’s energy that truly sparked the team. The rookie posted 10 points, 6 rebounds, 2 steals, and 1 block, impacting both ends of the court. He shot 3-of-5 from two-point range, 1-of-2 from beyond the arc, and a perfect 1-of-1 from the free-throw line, grabbing 3 crucial offensive rebounds.

Daniel, who has a Korean mother and a British father, has already established himself as a promising talent. He was named the Star Award winner at the 2024 Futures Star Awards in the basketball category and followed that up by winning the grand prize in the basketball category at the 2025 Futures Star Awards, further validating his potential.
Kevin Cambal led Sono with 22 points. New addition Igidius Motkevičius made his debut, contributing 4 points and 7 rebounds.
The game quickly became one-sided in the first quarter. SK jumped out to an early lead thanks to Tolentino’s scoring, taking control within the first three minutes. As Sono struggled with their shooting, SK extended their advantage, finishing the first quarter with a commanding 31-12 lead – a 19-point margin.
The second quarter saw both teams struggle offensively. SK went over four minutes without a field goal, while Sono’s outside shooting from Lee Jeong-hyeon and Lee Jae-do failed to materialize. The first half ended with SK leading 47-23.
Sono attempted a comeback in the third quarter, fueled by three three-pointers from Cambal. However, Warney answered with key baskets for SK, and Daniel punctuated the quarter with a powerful dunk and a subsequent free throw, stifling Sono’s momentum. SK dominated the third, leading 64-44.
The fourth quarter offered no respite for Sono. SK maintained their focus and continued to shut down their opponent’s offense, securing a decisive 20-point victory.
